The project officially ended in July 2012 but some of its outcomes are still ongoing, like the "We Are Here" exhibition showing at the Centre d'histoire de Montréal until April 2013.

Researcher Max Beer quoted in the National Post

Researcher of the Holocaust and Other Persecutions Against Jews working group Max Beer was interviewed by the National Post after he participated in a conference on the humanities in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Max has interviewed many Holocaust survivors within the Montreal Life Stories project.

Are you interested in (oral) history and human rights?
Do you enjoy listening to fascinating stories and want to contribute to their preservation and dissemination?
Are you meticulous and have a good English or French writing?

Montreal Life Stories is looking for interns to participate in the final stages of the project: listen to interviews to write chronologies and transcripts, enter the interviews into the Stories Matter database, help with the transferring of archives, etc. This is your last chance to get involved in this project!

Fulbright Chair Henry Greenspan comes to Concordia

University of Michigan psychologist Henry (Hank) Greenspan is the incoming Fulbright Research Chair in North American Studies at Concordia University's Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling. Dr. Greenspan will be working closely with the Montreal Life Stories project, a major collaborative project examining the life stories of Montrealers displaced by war, genocide and other human rights violations.

Ayanda Keith Dubé is CBC's "Montrealer of the Week"!

Ayanda Keith Dubé, a young Montrealer from Zimbabwe who came to Canada as a refugee, participated in the "Mapping Memories" project led by Liz Miller and Michele Luchs from the Experiences of refugee youth working group. You can view the digital story he created here.

Ayanda and the Mapping Memories team are currently visiting schools to present their work and the methodological manual they have developed.
